Settling in

My last couple of weeks have been very busy. I'm eating lots of food now and making lots of bad smells; much to the displeasure of my owners. I've got into a bit of a routine where I eat, poop, bounce around, then sleep; rinse, repeat.

I'm now allowed to run around the whole house when I'm on my own. Most of the time I spend either sleeping or chasing Rattly Cat. We're getting on better now, but I think she's still a little unsure of me. Still, I'm giving the annoying-kid-brother act my best efforts.

I went back to the vet a couple of days ago where they made lots of fuss over me. They're all happy to see me growing and getting ever larger. I weigh 1.56kg now, which is about 3 and a half pounds. I'm not quite sure if that's with or without a full stomach!

My voice is getting louder too, although I'm still a bit squeaky. Practice makes perfect, so I'm shouting at everything I see. I'll get the hang of it soon I'm sure.

I'm going on holiday this evening but I'll make sure to tell you all about it when I get back...

My First Week...

Hello,

My name is Francis Bernard Fenton-Higgins. I am a nine week old Savannah kitten. Herein I plan to record some of the details of my life.

I have been in my new home for six nights now.

My new owners collected me on Saturday. I said goodbye to my mummy and was put in a huge cage in what looked to me like a giant mechanical snail. It was a bit scary, so I hid under my blanket until curiosity drew me out after a few minutes. I climbed out of the cage and had a look around, but then I got scared again and hid under the seat until we stopped moving.

I got in the cage and was moved into a big house. Immediately a big, rattly cat came over and started sniffing me. I wasn't quite sure of her so I hissed like my mummy taught me. That seemed to work. I think she's just a big girl - hopefully we'll become friends soon.

Sunday was filled with lots of playing and sleeping. There are lots of things to play with here and I suspect many more rooms to explore when I manage to get out of the door...

I was limping a bit on Monday, (probably from jumping about so much) and my owners were a bit concerned so they took me to the vet. The girls there all made such a fuss of me. I had a couple of x-rays, but there was nothing to worry about; I'm jumping about quite happily now - ever higher too!

The rest of the week has been a bit of a blur - lots more sleeping and playing. Rattly-cat is slowly getting used to me now and I've been allowed to explore the rest of the house now. Running up and down the stairs is great fun, almost as good as my piece of string.

I've not been eating much since I got here, but today I've managed to eat half a tin of meaty paste. I'll try to eat some more later; it really helps to keep me jumping! My new dad tried to entice me with jelly covered cod chunks in milk this morning but I just turned my nose up - It smelled horrid.

I'm going to put up some pictures and play in a basket for a bit now.
